What is Art?

“the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power.”

Can anyone really answer this question? Art is different to each and every one of us. In my opinion we are all artists. Some people create paintings, some draw, some are metal fabricators, sculptors, or some create businesses. Art is creativity and everything requires creativity.

Often I hear people say oh I could never do that, which is false. You can do absolutely anything and everything if you really wanted too. If there’s a will there’s a way. Some people just don’t want it bad enough, they have other priorities, which it totally ok. But personally I will not accept “I cant” I would prefer “I choose”.

Art is therapy. Art is relaxing. Art is a reflection of what is going on in the inside. Art can be used to our benefits. Grab some colours and put them on a canvas – don’t say you cant do it just do it. You will be able to reflect on what colours you chose, what shapes, what sizes. Everything is a reflection of ourselves. The people we choose to surround ourselves with, the environment, our hobbies. Everything is a reflection of ourselves.
